Envy is often described as a green eyed monster. At Tennessee, we know that it is actually an "orange eyed" monster. No other University wears the orange of the University of Tennessee. The color was chosen because of the colors of the flowers growing on the Hill in front of Ayres Hall. There are plenty teams that wear red, black, silver, gold, and blue in the SEC. As Tennessee fans, we live to hear " I hate that orange color" from our opponents. We know it is simply "orange envy"... and we understand. You want to wear it; you just can't. You have to be a Volunteer.
After a long week of absolute Madness at The University of Tennessee, Phillip Fulmer has finally been named Athletic Director. Every Vol Fan in the land can breath a sigh of relief. The national pundits that have ridiculed the University and it's broad and extensive fan base have shut their mouths. Vol fans have won. It took the combined efforts of the entire fan base, and University Insiders one week to reclaim Tennessee Football. Now, a new Era will begin. There is no word on who Fulmer will tab to lead the Vols back to prominence. Odds on favorites at the moment are Tee Martin or Kevin Steele. However, Fulmer said yesterday that some of the coaches that now suspended John Currie reached out to may be re-contacted by the new/old regime. Stability is back. Tennessee is back.
